JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL / 7TH - 8TH GRADE

Students in the middle years of Junior High School are challenged to become increasingly independent learners, with a focus on preparing them to be successful in high school and beyond.  Our rigorous, standards-based curriculum is designed to help each student achieve his/her maximum potential, while learning to serve Christ in their daily lives.

Junior high students deepen their knowledge and skills in the five core subject areas of English language arts, mathematics, science, social sciences and Bible. Junior high students also have the opportunity to take classes in the fine arts: visual art, choir and band as well as physical education. Many will want to continue developing in these areas during their high school years. NCCS teachers approach all courses with a strong Christian perspective based on biblical truth.

Opportunities in sports are also an essential element of a well-rounded education for junior high students at NCCS. Seventh and eighth grade boys and girls are eligible to participate in a number of athletic programs such as soccer, basketball, volleyball and track.

All junior high students participate in a Chapel with high school students each week. Chapel praise and worship is student led, followed by a guest speaker or family groups and prayer.

The academic day for junior high students begins at 8:15 a.m. and concludes at 3:00 p.m. The school year typically runs from early September through mid-June.
